We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there ~ Pascal Mercier

We spend a lifetime making memories and we leave a little of ourselves in each memory we make. A part of us remains with our family, friends, lovers, even passing strangers. We may forget some of these memories but the people we make them with very seldom, if ever, forget. So we should try to make our life stories memorable in the best possible way.
Fragments of our past, like tea leaves in the bottom of a teacup, remain behind to tell a story. Mostly good ones but some, perhaps, can leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. Try not to be someone’s bad memory.
I believe we leave ghosts or shadows of us wherever we go. If one could turn back time and see themselves in a earlier age that would be cool or weird.

I hope I haven’t but people from my past keep finding me so maybe I’m OK 😀 great post and I love the quote. That could be why I took to writing posts of my past and there I was thinking it was old age. Thanks for sharing 😀

Love this! And through those stories we may become immortal, as long as someone is around to tell them 🙂

Not that I’m looking for immortality, I just like it when good old stories are told and retold. I hope I’ve left a part of me in those important in my life – something memorable

I think we do and that is why I think it is important to leave a trail of smiles and guffaws behind us. A sprinkling of anecdotes 🙂

This was beautiful!
P.S. The Potterhead in me was jumping with the prospect of reading future in the teacup. I asked her to stay quiet 😀
